How I made $1,250,000 selling products as a beginner in a crowded niche

A harsh truth:

Most writers will never build a product that sells.

Not because they lack knowledge. But because they're waiting to become experts first.

I almost made the same mistake.

When I quit dentistry to write online, I wanted a product so I could make money writing without costing my time.

But every time I tried to plan one, I froze.

I didn’t know what to build.

I saw people like Justin Welsh and Dan Koe with their smash hit products and felt so small.

Who was I to compete with these giants? I had no credentials, no massive wins to lean on.

But I was letting imposter syndrome prevent me from becoming who I wanted.

Thankfully in March 2022, I was running out of savings.

The dental drills were calling me back, so I decided to give a product a shot.

I launched the Viral Inspiration Lab.

I couldn’t promise riches or fame because I had neither.

Yet over 100 people bought it the first time I launched.

It was electrifying. I ran up and down my flat shouting at the top of my lungs.

I’d never got paid for something I’d built before.

Here’s what I learned:

You don’t need permission.

You need to create a new path to solve an old problem.

If an audience were happy with what they’d tried before, they wouldn’t be reading your content.

They want you to help them.

But you must prove why you’re different.

You need ‘Unique Concepts’.

Consider my first three products:

  • The Looking Glass Technique (not "beat writer's block")
  • The 3 Pillars of Magnetic Writing (not "grow your audience")
  • The 6-Step Magnetic Email System (not "write better emails")

People invest in your way of doing things.

And when they get results, they think:

Man, that Reader's method is pretty useful.

Soon, they start mentioning your name when they recommend solutions.

More attention means a stronger reputation. This means more sales. More sales means more writing time.

Better writing attracts better customers.

And you build a standout brand.

That's the flywheel: your products don't just generate revenue—they create your reputation.

But only if you GET GOING.

You don’t build products because you are an authority. You build them to become one.

If you wait for the perfect time to get started, you’ll miss it.

That’s why I built Productize Your Knowledge.

Creating my first product was terrifying because I had no idea what to do. I was lucky it didn’t flop. But I was also lucky that I shipped.

I’ve since sold over 3,500 products—grossing $1,250,000.

I created a simple 4-step blueprint called the Quality Product Pathway to help you turn your ideas into income.

In the first module, you’ll discover how to create your Unique Product Concept.

Then you’ll test it live so that when you productize, you have an asset students love to take (and share).

The launch is in the 2 days—Friday 4th July.

It’ll only be available for one week. I’m closing the doors for the summer so I can support you as you build.

P.S.

Unique Concepts are a creative challenge.

It used to take me so much time to build them. But I turned AI into my thinking partner and the quality of ideas have skyrocketed.

The concepts are sharper, more actionable.

This is important for products. But it’s also a critical skill for your brand.

It’s your job to build an Island of Ideas so that when your audience finds you, they never want to leave.

By the end of PYK, you’ll have a killer product concept. But also 5-10 micro-concepts that teach your steps in style.

And that’s just a taste of the cool stuff inside.

See you in 2 days.

Over the past 5 years, I’ve developed a serious case of IBS. It started when I quit dentistry. I used to see 20-30 patients a day… The clinic was chaos, a constant barrage between nurses and reception… During weekends, I’d attend dentistry seminars to network and talk more about… teeth (so much fun). So when I quit my job to write, I took one look at my calendar and self-diagnosed my disorder. Kieran, you have ‘Introverted Business Syndrome’. I was so fed up of people. The cure? A healthy...

Last week in a sun-soaked London park, Lara Acosta, a fellow writer, called me out. "You’ve changed your tune on AI," she said. She was right. For years, I've said writing with AI is stupid. And guess what? It still is. Literally. Writing is thinking, which makes outsourcing it dumb. Wrestling with words creates clarity. And in a noisy world, clarity is king. But we writers face a glaring problem: Time. You’re both artist and entrepreneur. You're drowning in tasks. Writing, marketing,...

“Zero.” My assistant said. “What?” I replied. “Nobody.” “Are you sure?” “Yes.” 2 weeks ago, my 33-day email course, 1% Writer, finished. I’ve been busy preparing Productize Your Knowledge, so I haven’t tracked the data. Today, I asked my lovely assistant, Vim, about refunds. It was our most popular launch, 559 students joined. With typical refund rates of 2-5%, I expected a fair few. But Vim confirmed: Zilch. Nada. real-life footage of me on Zoom I’ll be honest Reader… I walked around that...
