😱 I asked her to be my girlfriend

This week, I asked Carolina, the girl I am seeing, to be my girlfriend.

We met 4 months ago in Iguazu Falls, one of the world’s most impressive waterfalls.

She couldn’t speak a word of English, and my Spanish “was like talking to a three year old” (her words). It took me an hour to work up the courage to ask for her number. I’m glad I did. She’s beautiful, smart, funny, and relaxed. We spent Christmas and New Year together. And she was incredible when my phone got stolen and banks robbed.

2 weeks ago, we flew to Patagonia.

It was great to share some of the world’s most beautiful hikes together.

One morning, I dragged her out of bed at 6 AM (she is not a morning person, which is great for my writing). We made coffee and clambered across lakeside rocks to watch the sunrise. As the mountains changed from deep blue to hues of rosey pink, I handed her a notebook with a letter inside.

She laughed as she read (I thought it was my humour, but turns out, my grammar was terrible), and then she saw the question and cried.

Thankfully, she said yes, too.

So I am pleased to announce my new course:

Magnetic Dating

Just kidding. As a man terrified of commitment, the relationship side is a whole new thing for me. Although I did just finish the draft of my new book, Magnetic Writing. It won’t help you attract the opposite sex, but it will help you attract the audience and business you want.

… Which might have a similar effect.

A quick note:

I’ve been uploading two videos per week to YouTube. It’s been a fun way to share new ideas. If you want to write to grow your business, you’ll love the material. Come join 1200+ subscribers here: https://www.youtube.com/@kierandrewyoutube

I’m really happy to share the news, and excited to see how things go. It wasn’t part of the plan when I started travelling last year, but the best things come when you’re not expecting them. Plus, the digital nomad life sounds exciting, but it’s also quite superficial. Like my friend Daniel Kazandjian once said:

I can share one lesson I’ve learned from meeting Carolina (and other great things that have happened in my life this year):

Step in.

I always overthink about the future, which pulls me away from the present. When you find something (or someone) you like, step in. Don’t let doubts cause you to flinch, hesitate, or hedge your bets. Give it everything. Because life is short, and you never find out what is right without taking risks.

And if you keep waiting, you may miss the best moments. For example, my friend Ashley Butler just posted a harrowing article about how she missed the window to have kids. It’s well worth the read.

But stepping in isn’t just about the big decisions. It’s day-to-day life too. It’s too easy to just skim the surface. But there is so much to discover about yourself and the world when you step in and give life the intensity it deserves.

I’ll leave you with a question I love from Joe Hudson:

What does giving 10% more look like?

Step in, and you’ll be amazed at the paths that open up.

Kieran

P.S.

Dan Koe was one of the first people who helped me succeed online. I found him on Twitter 10 months into my writing journey. I joined one of his cohorts a few months later. Soon after, I had my first viral post following his advice, and things have never been the same. So it feels crazy to say that on June 5th, I will be headlining on the same stage as Dan, live in Canada. The event is called The Future Proof Creator Summit. There is a great range of speakers focused on helping you build your...

And I appreciate that I probably sounded a lot like someone refusing to change his horse for one of those ‘new automobile things’. But I am not anti-AI. In fact, I use it all day. There’s never been a better time for entrepreneurial writers who hate the idea of having a big team. I want to build a business with the least...
