📈 My business results from July 2025

Before we dive in:

The antidote to AI-generated content:

With AI on the rise, you can’t afford to sound generic. If you want to set yourself apart and grow your business, writing with the human touch is key. The best place? Email.

That’s why you should check out Creator Forest. The writer, Martin, built a 6 figure business through human-centric emails. And he created a free email course and a weekly newsletter to help you do the same.

In July, I hit my 5th 6-figure month.

I'm so grateful for your support. Today we’ll chat through the results.

The Freedom Metre

One reason I started writing was leverage.

As a dentist, I hated how my output was tied to my time. I felt like a hamster in a wheel. So I track my income sources—what you measure you improve.

When I began tracking in January 2023, 39.24% of my income was low leverage.

Today’s figures:

Let’s unpack the numbers.

July’s total income: $106,653.46

I love compounding, so this curve gets me all hot and bothered.

I’m not the fastest entrepreneur. But I’ve consistently created offers I’m proud of, and the results are starting to show.

Income breakdown

  • Products: $97,379.83
    • Digital products: $95,843.23
    • Paid newsletter: $1,536.60
  • Investments: $8,691.79
  • Affiliate sales: $581.84

The bulk of sales came from launching Productize Your Knowledge.

This is my third ‘big’ course. I now have a product for reach (High Impact Writing), relationships (Magnetic Emails), and revenue.

I am buzzing with PYK for two reasons:

  1. I wasn't sure what to expect, as it's a non-writing-related product
  2. The feedback from customers has been awesome

It's not available right now, but I plan to relaunch in October.

I’ve shared a deep dive of my launch at the bottom of this email.

Regarding investments:

I invested £50,000 in my best friend’s new property business, helping him secure two properties. He paid me back recently. It was a special moment for us as we’ve supported each other throughout our lives.

Expenses: $20,734

My biggest expense was Joe Hudson's Master Class.

It was $6,000, and the most I’d spent on a mindset offer.

It was worth every penny.

I want to explain why, but it’s been so profound I don’t know where to start.

All I’ll say is this: I feel more aligned and authentic. My confidence and decision-making are skyrocketing, and I can’t wait to see where life and business go as a result.

I’ve shared a link to an email explaining why I invested in Joe at the bottom of this email.

I also pay for weekly business coaching.

I am hyper-independent, so I used to resist coaching. But I love it now. You can only learn so much from books, and I enjoy having someone to bounce ideas with.

Plus, I’ve become close friends with my coaches.

It’s one reason I started offering coaching at the start of the year. It feels great to connect with your fans.

I will relaunch my 1-1 coaching program in October. I’ll take on 3 more clients.

Let’s look at audience growth.

Audience:

Audience growth hasn’t been a priority.

I poured my heart and soul into Productize Your Knowledge, which meant I ran social media on autopilot all summer, mainly re-purposing.

I'm cool with slow growth though.

It used to make me feel like a failure because I would compare with friends who are flying. But then I looked at their content and realised, I don't want to write like that.

I’m a firm believer how you grow is more important than how fast. So I only post stuff I would be a fan of myself.

I'm having a brilliant time. I'm hoping my fans are too, and that's all that matters.

Newsletter:

The reason for the downward trajectory is a shift in perspective.

I used to believe list size was everything, so I was scared to send more than a weekly newsletter or pitch my offers.

But a question I ask myself often:

What am I optimizing for?

In an AI-driven world, I'm betting big on connection.

Lukewarm readers will not help you survive in the sea of noise.

So I increased my email frequency to 2-3 per week. And I’ve made 1-2 offers per month.

As time goes on, I’m seeing my newsletter as an exclusive membership, rather than an ‘everyone welcome’ area.

You either love my content or leave. This is helping me craft a great experience for my One True Fan—who can’t get enough of story-driven emails about life and business.

If that’s you, you’re my kinda person.

3 Moves I’m Making

1) I recorded my first YouTube video

And damn it was tough.

I realised I was stuck in perfection mode. But after a pep-talk (and many failed attempts), I figured f**k it and recorded my first video.

I'm excited to give you a deeper way to connect with me.

I will figure out my vibe over time. But I don’t want to be a slave to another algorithm, so it will likely be a raw, authentic representation of me (as opposed to the over-edited, over-scripted stuff I see everywhere).

Regarding topics, I realised that people enjoy my writing through my building in public stuff.

So why not continue?

I’ll share what’s working for me as I grow my business.

For now, it’s a vid per week. But I can see myself going for two soon.

…Once I stop feeling like such a tit speaking to a camera.

Regardless, I’m loving being a beginner again. Fear and uncertainty make you come alive.

If you have any suggestions for what you’d like to watch, I’m all ears.

2) I’ve been writing my first book

And damn it’s been tough!

Same reasons. I put far too much pressure on myself.

I know the first draft of everything is shit. But books are a different beast because the first draft can take months.

The perfectionist in me is screaming to keep tidying things up.

Again, I realised I just need to enjoy myself. If you don’t have fun when you write, people won’t have fun when they read.

So I’m writing the book like I write my emails—a casual conversation with a close friend.

I write it for 2-3 hours every morning. This has been a fantastic challenge because I have less time for business, forcing me to think and operate smarter.

I’ve been working on several things behind the scenes to make this book a banger.

I’ll share more separately.

3) I started paid ads

Whilst newsletter growth hasn’t been a priority, I don’t want to neglect top of funnel.

My coach, who is great at paid ads, has begun helping me run them for newsletter growth. I know nothing here, and I don’t have time to take them seriously yet.

But I’m happy to start at level 1.

At the end of the day, if I can use money to grow my presence, I don’t need to worry about social media so much.

This is a work in progress. But we’ll run a webinar once we’re getting good results, likely in October.

As a dentist, it was my dream to travel the world as a writer. But as an entrepreneur, I’ve struggled with the dance between focus and freedom.
