I hang up the Zoom call. “Damn.” I think to myself, kicking back on the sofa. “That was awesome.” It’s January 2025. I’ve just finished my first call with a new coaching client. I was apprehensive when I took him. I didn’t want to sell my time. The irony? Coaching has become my favourite part of the business. I leave the calls energised, excited, and with tonnes of ideas. My mistake was defining success by an empty calendar. I thought the secret to writing better was simply to write more. But great writing is about creating emotion. It’s about connection. It’s about empathy. And you only achieve these through real-world contact. The best way to improve your writing is to spend more time listening.So when people tell me they are:
I always give the same advice. Speak. To. More. People. Spend more time in the DMs. Hop on calls with engaged readers. Record and review every client call (I use AI to extract all useful material and suggest content ideas using my Deep Research Miner Prompt inside the AI-Vault). Send questionnaires to people who register their interest in a new offer. Then look for signals. This might feel like work, but it’s the best investment of your time you can make.
